520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc.
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Unforgettable MemoriesSince the trial of the former leaders of the Khmer Rouge, people have begun to speak openly and the Khmer Rouge regime has begun to emerge from its envelope of trauma, becoming both the object of speech and an element within it. The author seeks to deal with trauma, first in its connected with an external event, such as the confrontation with death and/or the abandonment by the Other. The role of fantasy as a protection in relation to the traumatic real is explored, through the example of a little girl. Next, the question of forgetting and memory is taken up, along with the impossibility of forgetting and its motives. On the basis of the forms by which these memories return – repetition or reiteration – we glimpse the ethical position of certain subjects, who support a position of refusal, a refusal to forget.
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc.
