| Summary, etc. | Un retour sur l’issue des élections municipales de 2008 à Pau permet d’éclairer le poids du deuil sur l’issue de la succession. À la suite des premières phases d’abattement engendrées par la disparition du leader politique, le travail de deuil permet tout autant la réorganisation de la compétition politique encadrant le choix du successeur, que le retour à une routine rendue possible par la disparition du gatekeeper. Les variables du temps qui permet les obsèques définitives du leader, et de la composition du corps électoral (huis clos du conseil municipal puis élection) influencent fortement le choix du successeur, dont la figure même interroge le lien entre hérédité et légitimité. Le deuxième corps du roi ne survit finalement pas à l’espace circonscrit par le deuil, y compris dans les représentations sociales de la fonction politique endossée par le défunt. |

Time variables and the composition of the electorate (in camera council and election) strongly influence the choice of a successor, whose face even questioned the link between heredity and legitimacy in succession. The second body of the king does not ultimately survive the space circumscribed by grief, including the social representations of the political role assumed by the deceased. |
