520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | After having been treated in a drug rehabilitation centre, 116 people were found again about the treatment and help from which they had benefited. This was done by means of the Addiction severity index, a questionnaire they had completed a year earlier. The group represented 80 % of the original participants – a satisfactory sample achieved by consulting from the outset any third party who had originally referred them and who helped to trace the participants. There was a high level of mortality (5 deaths); those with most problems tended to opt less for substitute drug treatment; 45% of participants saw their situation had improved within a year. The most frequent improvements were found in areas concerning employment/income level (21 % of the sample) and the consumption of illegal drugs (45 %). |
