| Summary, etc. | Résumé Cet article présente une expérience d’intervention d’une durée d’un trimestre auprès de 9 hommes ayant une double problématique de troubles mentaux sévères et persistants et d’abus de substances dans une clinique externe de santé mentale à Montréal. D’abord, les auteurs décrivent ce phénomène et recensent les activités d’intervention existantes dans la littérature. Parmi celles-ci, le modèle intégré a été choisi avec une adaptation de l’intervention psychoéducative. Les résultats semblent concluants puisqu’ils peuvent être mis en lien avec des résultats similaires retracés dans la littérature. Principalement, les auteurs ont trouvé chez ces participants une diminution du nombre de consultations dans les services d’urgence pendant et après le programme, ainsi qu’un degré de satisfaction élevé à propos de ce programme. |

| Summary, etc. | This article presents the findings of a 3 month intervention program with 9 male dual diagnosis patients, with severe mental illness and substance abuse, treated in a mental health community clinic in Montreal. It includes a review of the literature and a description of the different intervention models with such patients, existing in the United States and Canada. An adapted psychoeducational group approach was elaborated and tried. The results obtained are similar to those already contained in the literature. Essentially, a decrease in the number of visits to the emergency, during and after the program, and a high level of satisfaction with the model of intervention was noted. |
