| Summary, etc. | RésuméLa question de la prescription d’antidépresseurs dans la dépression de l’enfant demeure délicate par les peurs qu’elle suscite tant dans le chef des professionnels que chez l’enfant et sa famille. L’étude discriminative de la dépression doit s’appuyer sur d’une part la symptomatologie en fonction de l’âge et d’autre part la variété du tableau dépressif proprement dit. Se basant sur sa clinique, l’auteur réfléchit aux critères qui permettent de dépasser des positions idéologiques. Il propose un canevas en vue d’éclairer le professionnel quant à la décision de la prescription. En respectant le canevas général des premiers entretiens avec l’enfant et sa famille, trois finalités de niveaux différents devraient animer en même temps le professionnel : l’étude de la symptomatologie, l’écoute de la souffrance, l’analyse des significations. L’article, sans plébisciter une molécule parmi d’autres, soumet l’expérience de l’auteur basée sur la classe des inhibiteurs de la recapture de la sérotonine. |

| Summary, etc. | The prescription of antidepressants to the child remains a delicate issue because of the fears it arouses among professionals and in the child and his family alike. A discriminative study of depression should be based on symptomatology with respect to age as well as on the specific type of depressive disorder. From his clinical experience the author draws that overides a ideological positions and offers a clearer view to decide when to prescribe. An outline of the initial encounters with the child and his family should guide the professional on three simultaneous levels : symptoms, suffering and meaning. Without plebisciting one molecule among others the article offers the author’s experience with the class of inhibitors of serotonine recapture. The implication of family history in depression makes its role crucial to the prescription and acceptance of this type of therapy. |
