| Summary, etc. | RésuméLe social est grandement négligé dans certaines sociétés modernes, alors qu’on porte en revanche beaucoup d’attention aux paramètres culturels et ethniques de la vie humaine. En conséquence, le social se trouve diminué, dilué, et le culturel et l’ethnique sont souvent confondus avec lui. Ces trois catégories se recouvrent partiellement, cependant elles sont distinctes et différentes. Le présent article utilise le concept contesté de classe sociale afin d’explorer l’importance du social pour les traitements individuels et les relations de groupe. Il introduit également le concept d’« intersocial » pour l’inclure dans la formation et la pratique de la psychothérapie. |

| Summary, etc. | The social is sorely neglected in some modern societies, and much attention is paid instead to cultural and ethnic parameters of human development. The social is therefore diminished and diluted, and cultural and ethnic issues are confounded with the social. These three categories overlap, yet they are distinct and different. This paper uses the contested concept of social class to explore the psychological importance of the social for individual treatments and group relations. It also introduces a concept of « intersocial » for inclusion in psychotherapy training and practice. |
