| Summary, etc. | Résumé L’article examine les apports de la littérature sur la sortie de la toxicodépendance et les limites de ces connaissances à l’aune des modifications sociopolitiques qui ont récemment marqué la question de la drogue en Suisse. Les savoirs produits par les travaux scientifiques se fondent sur une conception de la sortie comme passage de la consommation à l’abstinence. Dans un contexte de réduction des risques, toutefois, ce modèle est remis en discussion: désormais, l’abstinence n’est plus jugée comme la seule forme possible de rémission, d’autres rapports au produit étant devenus potentiellement acceptables. Ainsi le toxicodépendant qui s’en sort n’est plus appelé à suivre une voie unique et prédéterminée, mais doit construire lui-même son chemin de rémission en le dessinant et en le validant par un travail de légitimation. Or, c’est ce processus de construction qui, pour l’instant, est resté dans l’ombre. |

| Summary, etc. | The article examines the contributions of the literature on the recovery from drug addiction. It also looks at the limits of these approaches in Switzerland’s changing socio-political context in relation to drug use and addiction. The existing literature is founded on a conception of recovery as a passage from consumption to abstinence. In a context of harm reduction, however, this model is questioned. Nowadays, abstinence is no longer judged as the only possible form of remission. In fact, other relationships to drugs are considered as potentially acceptable. Therefore, the drug addict who recovers from his addiction is not obliged to follow a sole or predetermined path. He has to construct, by himself, his own way to remission, mapping it out, and validating through a process of legitimation. This process of legitimation has not yet been brought to light in the literature. |
