| Summary, etc. | RésuméAprès une période de rejet, en France, des communautés thérapeutiques dans les années 1970 et 1980, ce modèle de prise en charge des usagers de drogue fait aujourd’hui l’objet d’un intérêt nouveau et elles sont, a priori, invitées à se multiplier. Après un bref rappel de l’histoire – notamment en France – et du fonctionnement des communautés thérapeutiques, cet article propose quelques réflexions sur leur futur rôle et place dans le système français de soins aux usagers de drogues et sur les écueils à éviter quant à leur éthique, objectif, mode de fonctionnement et personnel d’encadrement. |

| Summary, etc. | After a rejection period in France, during the 70’s and the 80’s, of the therapeutic communities, this model for drug users care is, at present, re-considered: on the face of it, therapeutic communities should start mushrooming in the near future. After a brief review of their history –especially in France– and of their functioning, this article provides some thoughts on their future role and place in the French drug users care system. Finally, it ponders on the obstacles to be overcome regarding their ethics, objectives, way of functioning and staff. |
