A l’occasion du 150e anniversaire de sa naissance, en 2006, la vitesse à laquelle ces volumes ont paru s’est encore accrue, sans parler du battage publicitaire généré dans les médias, le deuxième seulement après Mozart. Ainsi, combien savons-nous actuellement sur Freud l’homme et le savant, sur sa vie et sur son œuvre ? Jusqu’où vont les connaissances à son sujet ? Où les non-spécialistes peuvent-ils se tourner pour obtenir une information fiable, et comment peuvent-ils distinguer les présomptions non prouvées des faits historiques ? |

So how much do we actually know by now about Freud the man and scientist, about his life and work ? How far advanced is Freud scholarship ? Where can non-specialists turn to get reliable information, and how can they distinguish unsubstantiated claims from historical facts ? |
