520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | The thresholds of substitution: sociological perspective on access to opiate substitution treatmentsThe concept of threshold is commonly used by professionals involved in addiction treatment, without its meaning is always re-examined. This article aims to identify the different uses of “threshold” from definitions to practices, focusing on its use for opiate substitution treatment. The notion of threshold, often thought “bottom”, is in turn seen as a chronological sequence of treatment steps or as a variety of methods for dispensing treatments according to the public. However, high threshold and low threshold are actually specific solutions offered to patients experiencing difficulties to integrate a treatment. |
