520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |

Summary, etc. | This article presents the specificities of the indian television in the international audiovisual landscape. The political, economical, social and cultural context of India has influenced the indigenous television and cinema, and has determined the way indian people react towards images. A certain penetration of globalization (consumerism, materialism, fashion etc.) can’t be denied, however the strong indian identity is able to resist against the globalized system of the medias. The audience always prefers indian programs, helped by a sizeable local production. To succeed in India, foreign medias have to adapt to the cultural reality of the country. The indian television is inspired by the globalized model in order to produce strict indian programs, this process is called « indianization ». Through the indian case, we can then minimize the supremacy of Mac Luhans'notion « global village ». |
