Grâce au cas lorrain, dont l’expérience remonte à la fin du XIXe siècle, nous montrerons que les mécanismes d’enfermement des relations interculturelles se sont progressivement mis en place au long des décennies du XXe siècle. Ce processus historique de claustration, considéré comme une logique de cercle, est étudié en termes de rapports intergroupes et de liens interpersonnels. |

| Summary, etc. | The recruitment of foreign labour is at the core of the present debate on European, and particularly French, migratory policies. This article, mainly devoted to the case of the Lorraine area, shows how mechanisms working towards the confinement of intercultural relationships gradually became established throughout the twentieth century. This historical isolationist process, regarded here as a vicious circle and examined from the starting point of concrete examples, is studied in terms of inter-group and inter-personal relationships. |
