| Summary, etc. | En Finlande, l’intelligentsia s’est créée au XIXe siècle sur les institutions universitaires pour adopter un rôle social de représentante des groupes organisés du « peuple », avant de s’installer dans les structures politico-administratives de l’État. En 1989, les professeurs d’université occupaient une position dominante dans le classement et le palmarès des intellectuels. Parallèlement, la médiatisation de la société a lancé un défi à ce modèle, érigeant les intellectuels en porte-parole du « peuple », actifs au sein d’associations. Cette médiatisation accentue la figure de l’intellectuel « expert » ou « responsable », une tendance persistante de la tradition finlandaise. En outre, un classement récent des intellectuels atteste non de la disparition des professeurs d’université, mais de la diminution de leur influence. Enfin, sur un autre plan, clivée dans son histoire entre l’influence suédoise et russe, la Finlande se tourne aujourd’hui vers Bruxelles. |

| Summary, etc. | ?In Finland, the intelligentsia was created in the XIX? ?th? ? century from the university institutions in order to play a social role, in which it was the representative of the « people’s » organised groups. It then settled in the political and administrative structures of the state. The tradition expresses itself in the ranking and the achievements of the Finnish intellectuals. Indeed, in 1989, the university professors had the first place. At the same time, the society was more and more reported in the media, which challenged the traditional model of the representation that portrayed the intellectuals as « people’s » leaders within associations. This presence in the media increased the « expert » or « responsible » image of the intellectuals as a persistent tendency in the Finnish tradition. A recent study on the ranking intellectuals showed a decrease but not the disappearance of the university professors in it. Stuck in its history between the Swedish and the Russian influences, Finland turns towards Brussels.? |
