| Summary, etc. | RésuméCet article porte une réflexion sur le travail de liaison et la fonction médiatrice qu’il peut avoir à l’hôpital général. L’histoire clinique de Joseph, un jeune garçon de onze ans hospitalisé suite à une tentative de suicide par pendaison, permet à l’auteur de mettre en relief la fonction symbolisante et qui donne sens au travail de liaison dans certaines situations cliniques où la destructivité semble empêcher toute liaison psychique.La confrontation à cette dimension mortifère engendre chez tous les soignants des vécus qui, faute d’être symbolisés, pourraient être agis et se manifester par la voie de contre-attitudes plus ou moins marquées. De même que l’équipe soignante est porteuse des aspects inconscients de la somatisation, on a formulé l’hypothèse que dans cette situation, elle a été également porteuse des aspects clivés et agis par Joseph. La prise en compte des réactions et du vécu de l’équipe soignante dans sa fonction d’aire/objet transitionnel a ainsi enrichi le travail clinique et les hypothèses métapsychologiques que nous avons formulées. |

| Summary, etc. | This paper is about the mediating function that a consultant-liaison psychiatrist has at the general hospital. Through Joseph’s story, an eleven years old boy hospitalized following a suicide attempt by hanging, the author highlights the symbolizing function that consultation-liaison psychiatry can bring in clinical situations where aggressiveness seems to prevent any linking.Confrontation with this mortiferous dimension engenders in all caregivers feelings that in them are not symbolized may be acted out. Care-givers bear the unconscious aspects of somatization. We formulated that in this situation they also carried split-off aspects of Joseph’s acting out. Understanding caregivers’ reactions and feelings into their transitional object/area function enriched our clinical work and the metapsychological hypotheses that we evoqued. |
