| Summary, etc. | Le centre médical Marmottan est un hôpital qui accueille des patients usagers de drogues désireux d’être suivis médicalement ou d’effectuer un sevrage. Ce sevrage s’accompagne d’un effet de manque à divers degrés, et de traitements médicamenteux entraînant eux-mêmes certains symptômes. Ces symptômes sont entre autres des constipations et des douleurs dans les membres inférieurs de type courbatures ou sensations de « jambes lourdes ». Ces patients ont ainsi été amenés à suivre des consultations d’ostéopathie, ce qui a permis d’évaluer l’efficacité des actes ostéopathiques adaptés à ces symptômes. Les différents tests statistiques ont permis de mettre en évidence une diminution de la douleur pour les membres inférieurs et une augmentation de la fréquence des selles en deux consultations. Ces tests n’ont pas permis de mettre en évidence une diminution du diamètre du côlon sigmoïde. |

| Summary, etc. | Assessment of osteopathic treatments for pathologies due to toxicological withdrawalThe Centre Médical Marmottan is a hospital that welcomes patients with addiction, eager to start a withdrawal or a medical treatment. Withdrawals entail lack of drugs, powerful treatments and may cause certain diseases. These diseases are, among others, constipation, pain in the legs or a feeling of heavy aching legs. We have practised osteopathy sessions on patients to evaluate the potential effectiveness of this treatment for different pathologies. Multiple statistical tests have shown that there is a reduction in pain in the lower extremities and increased stool frequency in two consultations. These tests have failed to demonstrate a reduction in the diameter of the sigmoid colon. |
