| Summary, etc. | RésuméCet article s’est construit en réponse à celui de Bonneville et al., qui paraît dans ce même numéro. L’apport de l’anthropologie à la psychiatrie, ainsi que les fondements de l’approche culturelle en psychiatrie, sont rappelés. Nous soulignons la nécessité de développer la sensibilité culturelle des professionnels et des systèmes de santé, tout en évitant le communautarisme. A l’heure de la mondialisation, il nous semble que le clinicien ne peut plus faire l’impasse sur les déterminants sociaux, politiques et économiques de la santé mentale. |

| Summary, etc. | This article is in response to that of Bonneville and al. that appears in this same number. What anthropology has brought to psychiatry as well as the basic cultural approach in psychiatry is reviewed. We underline the necessity of developing the cultural sensitivity of professionals to health systems while avoiding communitarism. At the time of globalisation it seems to us that the clinician can no longer ignore the dilemmas of social, political and economic determinants of mental health. |
