| Summary, etc. | Cet article cherche moins à prendre parti dans le débat sur les biais qui affecteraient les médias dans leur couverture du conflit israélo-palestinien, qu’à situer la critique des médias de façon à la fois relationnelle et historique (en retraçant l’évolution des sensibilités des publics et de la presse). Après l’examen de quelques arguments clés avancés par la critique principalement du monde juif, il s’emploie à montrer les enjeux existentiels, reliés à leur utilisation. Il examine ensuite en quoi les médias pêchent moins par des biais inévitables, et qui ont, eux aussi, une histoire, que par une prétention à l’universalité stylistique qui voile les engagements changeants dont le monde journalistique est l’objet. Il conclut sur la question du lieu : sa négation (lieu de la critique, lieu des publics, lieu des médias) conduisant à rendre impossible l’échange entre les médias et leur critique. |

| Summary, etc. | This article seeks less to stand up in the debate on the bias which would affect the media in their reporting on the Israelo-Palestinian conflict, than to place the critic of the media in both relational and historical way (in relating the evolution of publics’ sensitivities and of the press). After the study of a few key arguments put forward by the critic mainly from the Jew world, it tends to show the existential stakes, linked to their use. It examines then how the media sin less by inevitable bias, which have, them too, a story, than by a pretention to the stylistic universality which veils the changing commitments from which the journalistic world is the object. It ends on the question of the place: its denial (place of the critic, of the publics, of the media) leading to make impossible the exchange between the media and their critic. |
