Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | The information reporting often raises questions, as regards its accuracy or its impartiality. When a researcher analyses the media treatment of a subject he well knows, for personal reasons, and which he feels implicated in, he can quite easily identify the approximations and factual mistakes. For the main ones, they are due to limits of a more and more precarious professional functioning, and do not come necessarily under a will of diabolisation from one of the parts. In the Israelo-Palestinian conflict, the putting forward of a few problematical examples to denounce a generalised anti-Israelian commitment is not confirmed by an exhaustive analysis in the long term. Besides, the editorial staff ’s sensitivity, under pressure from all parts, leads them to a permanent semantic caution. However, the necessary putting in account of the information calls stereotyped, simplified the construction frames, in favour of conflicting schemes. But, as a result, the stake is less ideological, while the opinion press is declining, than narratologic and linked to journalistic practices (that also have to be questioned). |
