| Summary, etc. | The aim was to examine the psychological, behavioural and socio-demographic dimensions involved in problematic use of social networks. A cross-sectional, descriptive and predictive study was conducted among 459 students at the University of Ngaoundéré. Problem use of social networks was assessed using an adapted version of the Bergen Facebook Addiction Scale, personality was measured using two scales (Big Five Inventory and Impulsiveness Behavior Scale) and self-esteem was assessed using The Rosenberg’s Self-Esteem Scale. 14% of students showed problematic use of social networks. The factors predicting problematic use of social networks were self-esteem, age, extraversion, neuroticism, open-mindedness, gender, positive urgency and sensation-seeking. Our study shows that the problematic use of social networks among the students surveyed is a reality to be taken seriously. |

| Summary, etc. | L’objectif était d’examiner les dimensions psychologiques, comportementales et sociodémographiques impliquées dans l’usage problématique des Réseaux sociaux. Une étude transversale, descriptive et prédictive a été menée auprès de 459 étudiants de l’Université de Ngaoundéré. L’usage problématique des réseaux sociaux a été réalisé par une version adaptée de la Bergen Facebook Addiction Scale, la personnalité a été mesurée par deux échelles (Big Five Inventory et Impulsiveness Behavior Scale) et l’estime de soi a été évaluée par « The Rosenberg’s Self-Esteem Scale ». 14 % des étudiants présentent un usage problématique aux réseaux sociaux. Les facteurs prédicteurs de l’usage problématique des Réseaux sociaux étaient l’estime de soi, l’âge, l’extraversion, le névrosisme, l’ouverture d’esprit, le genre, l’urgence positive et la recherche de sensation. Notre étude montre que l’usage problématique des Réseaux sociaux chez les étudiants enquêtés est une réalité à prendre au sérieux. |
