520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc.
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. If information and communication sciences have missed the “Turn”, perhaps is this not the one of which we think in the last debates of Questions of communication’s journal. To the turning point of gender, we will oppose that of philosophy, phenomenology, anthropology and sociology. In return of these inaugural contributions, the first series of exchanges about gender do invite us to distinguish an approach based on the object - in fact the gender and, more trivially here, the woman - from a theoretical approach (constructivism). By doing this, we point some limits of this approach or, anyway, one of their abusive or (non-) appropriations: to mix up theory, studies and opinion. To finish by wondering whether information and communication sciences, by using “gender”, would not claim simply the use of theories, concepts and methods supported by philosophy, anthropology and sociology. If gender should become an autonomous discipline, then it would be advisable undoubtedly to reverse the direction of our analysis and to ask what information and communication sciences would bring to gender, rather than the opposite.
