Summary, etc. | Contrairement aux idées reçues, le modèle de l’entreprise libérée ne supprime pas toute forme de management. Les entreprises l’ayant adopté créent de nouvelles fonctions dénuées de statut hiérarchique qui, à travers leurs pratiques, visent le développement de l’autonomie et la responsabilisation des collaborateurs. Et si l’entreprise libérée avait ainsi réinventé l’exercice du management ? À travers une étude de cas approfondie, cet article décrit les pratiques de ces « néo-managers » et analyse l’évolution des rôles précédemment exercés par l’encadrement. Il fait apparaître que ces pratiques sont davantage centrées sur l’accompagnement et le développement des salariés, mais aussi que la suppression radicale de toute forme d’encadrement entraîne des conséquences contraires à la perspective humaniste de l’entreprise libérée. |

Summary, etc. | Contrary to common beliefs the “liberated” organisational form doesn’t suppress any kind of management. Companies adopting it create new positions without hierarchical status aimed at developing people’s autonomy and responsibility. What if the “liberated” organisational form had thus reinvented the essence of management ? Through an in-depth case study, this article describes the neo-managers’ practices and analyses the course of the roles previously performed by management staff. It shows that practices are more based on coaching and people development but also that a radical withdrawal of supervision can also lead to consequences opposed to the humanist perspective of the “liberated” organisational form. |
