| Summary, etc. | L’article examine comment, à travers son dispositif (fragmentation en rubriques, séquences de questions-réponses, reprises citationnelles), Le Grand Journal (Canal +, 2004-) met en scène la politique et les acteurs politiques. Quand bien même se présente-t-elle comme une émission d’info-divertissement, depuis presque une décennie, l’émission est parvenue à accueillir sur son plateau les ténors de la scène politique française. Ayant donné lieu à peu de recherches, l’émission de Michel Denisot est pourtant symptomatique de l’évolution d’émissions tout terrain qui misent sur une hétérogénéité discursive, sur l’alternance de registres de parole (critique, ludique, ironique) et sur la performance actorielle conjointe des journalistes et des politiques. Prenant appui sur un échantillon d’émissions diffusées durant la saison 2008-2009, il s’agit de montrer quels sont les cadrages préconisés et comment est mobilisé un jeu de figuration dans les rubriques « La petite question », « Le petit journal » et lors des séquences d’interview des invités politiques. On montrera que, à travers la posture adoptée par les journalistes, Le Grand Journal est sous-tendu par des lectures critiques et disqualifiantes de la politique. Les résultats interrogent alors plus largement sur les perceptions défiantes de la politique que l’info-divertissement peut induire ou entretenir chez les jeunes et les publics populaires. |

| Summary, etc. | Journalistic Treatment of Political Guests on Le Grand JournalThe article examines how Le Grand Journal (Canal +, 2004-) presents politics and political players, with a mechanism based on separate sections, question and answer sequences and vt clips of politicians speaking. Although it positions itself as an infotainment show, it has been attracting the leading lights of French politics to its studio for nearly a decade. The programme, hosted until recently by Michel Denisot, has not been the subject of a great deal of research. Nevertheless, it is symptomatic of the development of shows that cover all bases, centred on discursive heterogeneity, alternating speech registers (critical, playful, ironic) and the collusive actorly performances of journalists and politicians. Drawing on a sample of shows broadcast during the 2008-2009 season, we aim to illustrate the preferred frameworks at play and how representations are mobilised in the “La petite question” and “Le petit journal” sections and during sequences when political guests are interviewed. We will demonstrate that the attitude adopted by the show’s journalists means that Le Grand Journal is underpinned by critical and denigratory interpretations of politics. The results ask broader questions about distrustful perceptions of politics that infotainment can provoke or fuel among young people and the mass audience. |
