| Summary, etc. | Thématique a priori universelle, l’amour prête aisément à des réflexions anhistoriques que la philosophie antique aurait déjà définitivement formulées. Pourtant, la variabilité historique de ses expressions et la querelle sans cesse renouvelée sur ses significations démontrent qu’elle est, elle aussi, traversée de divers conflits épistémologiques. Loin d’un idéal transcendant, les récents travaux envisagent l’amour comme une visée communicationnelle en même temps que décroît l’idéologie du sacrifice personnel et que se forge une démocratie relationnelle où chacun doit en théorie pouvoir se faire entendre. Les outils y sont ceux de l’expression personnelle et de la responsabilisation, de la délibération et du compromis pour que soit construite une sphère publique intime où communiquent couple et individualités. |

| Summary, etc. | Love is a supposedly universal thematic whose ahistorical dimensions would already have been understood by ancient philosophy. Yet the historical variability of its expressions and the constantly renewed quarrel over its significance shows that it, too, is constructed through epistemological conflicts. Far from being a transcendent ideal, love is seen as a communicative intent at the same time that the ideology of self-sacrifice is decreasing and that a personal democracy is forged in which everyone should in theory be able to be heard. The key instruments are those of self-expression and accountability, deliberation and compromise in order to build a public sphere of intimacy where individuals and the couple communicate. |
