| Summary, etc. | French elite rugby is currently experiencing a massive internationalization of its workforce. Among the contingent of foreign athletes operating in Top 14 clubs, players from New Zealand and those from the South Pacific Islands enjoy a special status built around morphological, technical and identity characteristics. The case of the club of the Section paloise illustrates this situation. Through the analysis of the journalistic discourse on these players and their central role in the club’s external communication, this article aims to objectivize the overall promotion strategy of French professional rugby. |
