Summary, etc. | Durant le premier tiers du XXe siècle, dans le champ des sciences de l’éducation en phase d’élaboration, les réformateurs – théoriciens et/ou praticiens – ambitionnent de fonder une pédagogie scientifique qui procurerait aux instituteurs des méthodes fiables leur permettant de rompre avec leurs vieilles habitudes et de révolutionner leurs pratiques d’enseignement. Dans le contexte romand, sous l’impulsion du psychologue Édouard Claparède, les réformateurs, à l’Institut Jean-Jacques Rousseau et dans les associations pédagogiques, entreprennent de rallier l’ensemble des instituteurs aux vérités nouvelles, suscitant aussi des résistances dans la corporation enseignante. Le texte examine la façon dont se construisent les divers arguments et les positionnements des acteurs dans les controverses relatives à ce qui peut légitimement être tenu pour vrai en éducation. |

Summary, etc. | During the first third of the 20th century, in the developing field of educational sciences, the reformers - theorists and/or practitioners - ambitioned to found a scientific pedagogy which would provide teachers with reliable methods, allowing them to break away from old habits and to revolutionize their teaching practices. In the context of French-speaking Switzerland, under the leadership of psychologist Édouard Claparède, the reformers at the Geneva Jean-Jacques Rousseau Institute and in educational associations undertook to rally primary teachers to new truths, arousing some resistance among the teaching profession. The text examines the way in which the various arguments and the positions of the actors were constructed in the controversies relating to what can legitimately be held to be true in education. |
