| Summary, etc. | Cet article rend compte du travail d’ingénierie dans le domaine des micro- et nanotechnologies (MNT) en explorant une diversité de lieux où technologies et sociétés sont coproduites : comités internationaux où sont définies des feuilles de route ( roadmap), laboratoires de recherche où sont conçus de nouveaux dispositifs, plates-formes d’exploration et de transfert des nouvelles technologies vers l’industrie, grands programmes de recherche où chercheurs et entreprises façonnent des infrastructures sociotechniques et régulent l’inscription sociétale des nouveautés techniques. Il utilise le concept d’« ingénierie hétérogène » (Law, 1989) afin d’expliquer la capacité de transformation sociale des pratiques d’ingénierie. Il montre ainsi que la théorie de l’acteur-réseau peut produire une description des mécanismes à l’œuvre lors d’une transition sociotechnique, depuis la construction de projets de laboratoire jusqu’à leur inscription dans la société, sans pour autant renoncer à « suivre les acteurs » – notamment les ingénieurs – et leurs pratiques concrètes et situées.1 |

| Summary, etc. | From engineering practices to sociotechnical transitionsThe article sets out to explore the engineering work in the field of Micro and Nano Technologies (MNT) visiting a variety of places where technology and society are co-produced: international committees where roadmaps are defined, research labs where new devices are designed, platforms where technological exploration and transfer are performed, big collaborative research programs where researchers and companies shape sociotechnical infrastructures, and places where societal inscription of the novelties is regulated. The concept of “heterogeneous engineering” (Law, 1989) is used in order to explain how engineering practice shapes and transforms the society. The article shows that actor-network theory may deal with a complete sociotechnical transition, from the construction of laboratory projects till their social inscription, without giving up on the idea of “following actors” –especially engineers- and their concrete and situated practices. |

| Summary, etc. | Este artículo da cuenta del trabajo de ingeniería en el campo de las Micro y Nano Tecnologías (MNT) explorando varios lugares donde tecnología y sociedad se co-producen: comités internacionales donde hojas de ruta se definen; laboratorios donde se diseñan nuevos dispositivos técnicos; plataformas de exploración y de transferencia de tecnología hacia la industria; grandes programas de investigación donde académicos e industriales dan forma a infraestructuras sociotécnicas y regulan la inscripción social de nuevos artefactos. Se utiliza el concepto de “ingeniería heterogénea” (Law, 1989) para explicar la capacidad de transformación social de las prácticas de ingeniería. El artículo muestra que la teoría del actor-red permite analizar los mecanismos de una transición sociotécnica completa, desde la construcción de proyectos de laboratorio hasta sus inscripciones en la sociedad, sin renunciar a “seguir los actores” –especialmente los ingenieros- y sus prácticas concretas y situadas. |
