Summary, etc. | Cet article identifie les grandes lignes d’un modèle d’entrée dans l’écrit d’adultes en situation de migration non scolarisé·es dans l’enfance, qui reflète la réalité de leur contexte de formation et d’apprentissage. Le processus d’alphabétisation est situé à la croisée de deux champs : la didactique de l’entrée dans l’écrit, fortement rattachée au contexte scolaire de l’enseignement primaire, et la formation de base et l’éducation des adultes au sein desquelles les apprentissages expérientiels, non formels et informels sont centraux. Une démarche de rapprochement/distanciation d’une certaine forme scolaire est réalisée. Au-delà de l’hégémonie de l’éducation scolaire, des formes d’apprentissages et des espaces de formation propres au public d’adultes sont mis en évidence. La recherche dont il est question s’appuie sur des récits de vie produits par entretiens biographiques et vise à comprendre les enjeux et les effets de l’entrée dans la littératie chez les adultes. |

Summary, etc. | This article identifies the outlines of a model of how adults from migrant backgrounds engage with the culture of literacy in the absence of any formal schooling in childhood, with the aim of reflecting the reality of their training and learning contexts. The literacy process is situated at the crossroads of two fields: the didactics of learning and teaching literacy, which is strongly linked to the school context of primary education, and basic skills training and adult education, in which experiential, non-formal and informal learning are central. A process of rapprochement/distancing from a certain form of schooling is explored. Beyond the hegemony of school education, forms of learning and training spaces specific to adult learners are highlighted. The research in question is based on life stories produced through biographical interviews and aims to understand the issues surrounding and effects of adults engaging with literacy. |
