| Summary, etc. | L’ Encyclopédie des Lumières comprend tous les éléments conceptuels permettant de renouveler le genre encyclopédique hors du livre. Nous pensons plus particulièrement aux concepts de point de vue et de renvoi définis dès le Prospectus et le Discours préliminaire des éditeurs, les renvois d’un article à l’autre remplaçant dans l’ Encyclopédie les composants du livre appartenant à l’appareil paratextuel. En sollicitant la participation du lecteur à la constitution de l’enchaînement des sciences, les éditeurs de l’ Encyclopédie libèrent celui-ci du livre. Ils ont pressenti dès le projet que le livre ne convenait pas à la visualisation de l’ordre encyclopédique des connaissances humaines. De fait, la réalisation de l’ Encyclopédie remet en question les conditions de la composition d’un livre en multipliant les points de vue, combinant ainsi plusieurs arrangements de connaissances.Nous envisageons dans cet article comment l’ Encyclopédie peut être lue comme une encyclopédie et nourrir notre réflexion sur l’épistémologie correspondant aux savoirs se développant hors du livre. Enfin, nous examinerons dans cette perspective comment les éditeurs de l’ Encyclopédie ont élaboré les notions de représentation et de visualisation des connaissances. |

| Summary, etc. | The Encyclopedia out of the bookThe Encyclopedia published by the Enlightenment thinkers contains all the conceptual elements able to renew the encyclopedic genre outside the book. We think more specifically about the concepts of viewpoint and of cross-reference defined from the Prospectus and Prelimary Discourse to the Encyclopedia, because the cross-references from one entry to another entry in the Encyclopedia take the place of the components of the book belonging to the paratextual apparatus. By requesting the involvement of the reader in the setting of the chain of knowledge, the editors of the Encyclopedia free him from the book. They sensed since the beginning of their project that the book was not appropriate for visualizing the encyclopedic order of human knowledge. Indeed, by increasing the number of viewpoints and combining in this way several layouts of knowledge, the achievement of the Encyclopedia questions the requirements for a book‘s composition.We consider in this article how the Encyclopedia can be read as an Encyclopedia and how it sustains our thought for the epistemology corresponding to the knowledge developing outside the book. Finally, we shall examine from this standpoint how the editors of the Encyclopedia developed the notions of representation and visualization of knowledge. |

| Summary, etc. | La Enciclopedia de las Luzes comprende todos los elementos conceptuales permitiendo de renovelar el genero enciclopedico fuera del libro. Pensamos màs particularmente a los conceptos de punto de vista y de remision definidos desde el Prospectus y el Discurso Preliminario de los editores, las remisiones de un articulo al otro reemplazando en la Enciclopedia los componentes del libro aparteneciendo al aparato paratextual. Solicitando la participacion del lector a la constitucion del encadenamiento de las ciencias, los editores de la Enciclopedia le libertan del libro. Han presentido desde el proyecto que el libro no convenia a la visualisacion del orden enciclopedico de los conocimientos humanos. Puesto que la realizacion de la Enciclopedia pone en tela de juicio las condiciones de la composicion de un libro multiplicando los puntos de vista, combinando asi varios arreglos de conocimientos.Tenemos presente en este articulo como la Enciclopedia puede ser leida como una Enciclopedia y alimentar nuestra reflexion sobre la epistemologia correspondiendo a los saberes que se desarollan fuera del libro. Por fin, examinaremos en esta perspectiva como los editores de la Enciclopedia han elaborado las nociones de representacion y de visualisacion de los conocimientos. |
