| Summary, etc. | RésuméCet article pose la question suivante : comment construire un critère normatif adapté au tournant constructiviste des théories de la représentation ? Pour répondre à cette question, je prends appui sur la recherche empirique menée aux États-Unis sur le policy feedback qui élargit la réflexion à propos de la légitimité démocratique. Plutôt que de s’interroger sur la nature de la relation entre les représentants et les représentés (est-elle concrètement adéquate, délibérative, suffisamment réactive, etc. ?), ce travail se concentre directement sur les « effets de subjectivation » créés par les actes de représentation, sur la manière dont ils se forment, renforcent ou affaiblissent certains groupes politiques. |

| Summary, etc. | Political representation and “subjectivation effects”: Posing the question of democratic legitimacy after the constructivist turnThis article poses the following question: how to construct a normative criteria following the “constructivist turn” in theories of political representation. To respond to this question, I take direction from empirical research conducted in the United States on “policy feedback” which broadens the scope of inquiry into democratic legitimacy. Rather than focus on the quality of the relationship between representative and represented (e.g. empirically adequate, deliberative, responsive), this work directs attention to the “subjectivation effects that acts of representation create – to their formation and empowerment or disempowerment of political groups. |
