| Summary, etc. | RésuméFace à la question de la démocratie, la philosophie politique du siècle dernier a souvent été tentée par une certaine emphase maximaliste. Il s’agissait pour elle d’identifier (et de valoriser) le processus historique, la forme institutionnelle ou le genre d’événement qui, seuls, pouvaient se prétendre légitimement démocratiques. En réalité, les éléments démocratiques de la vie sociale, dont on ne peut pas dessiner la forme par avance, surgissent de façon spontanée et aléatoire dans la vie sociale, et ils le font toujours sous une forme imparfaite et non autosuffisante. Une telle conception radicalement pluraliste et anti-essentialiste de la démocratie peut rencontrer les intérêts d’une sociologie qui a appris à orchestrer les thèmes caractéristiques d’une vision non monolithique de la société, dans le sillage de la théorie des champs de Pierre Bourdieu on de l’analyse du système social chez Luhmann. L’interprétation de la nature du néocapitalisme joue alors un rôle décisif. |

For a deflationist political philosophyFaced with the question of democracy, the political philosophy of the last century has often been tempted by a certain emphatic maximalism. It intended to identify (and to valorize) the historical process, the institutional design or the type of event which alone could legitimately claim to be democratic. In reality, the democratic elements of social life, which one cannot draw the shape in advance, arise spontaneously and randomly in social life, and they always supervene in an imperfect and not self-sufficient mode. Such a radically pluralistic and anti-essentialist conception of democracy can meet the interests of a sociology that has learned to orchestrate the specific themes of a non-monolithic vision of society, in the wake of Pierre Bourdieu’s fields theory or Niklas Luhmann’s analysis of systems. The interpretation of neocapitalism’s nature then plays a decisive role. |
