| Summary, etc. | Cet article interroge des représentations et imaginaires sociaux qui imprègnent les pratiques académiques dans le champ français des études africaines, à partir de l’analyse de la préparation d’un colloque de jeunes chercheurs spécialisé sur l’Afrique et organisé en France. Il analyse la place et la participation des chercheurs africains à la structuration de ce champ scientifique, et ce qu’elles induisent dans la production de connaissances et la circulation des savoirs. Cette critique réflexive explore les contours contrastés de l’objet de recherche « Afrique », ses symbolisations, ses représentativités académiques et les épistémès qu’il confronte. L’analyse met aussi au jour la reproduction sociale de plusieurs mécanismes systémiques, liés notamment à l’invisibilité des chercheurs africains affiliés à des institutions africaines et aux filtres plus académiques qu’économiques ou politiques qui peuvent entraver leur mobilité vers la France. |

| Summary, etc. | This paper questions social representations and imaginaries, which are embedded in academic practice in the field of African studies in France, by analyzing the preparation of a conference for junior scholars, specialized in Africa and held in France. It discusses the place and the participation of African academics in the structure of this scientific field and the way they influence knowledge production and its circulation. This reflexive critique explores the contrasted outlines of the scientific object that is “Africa,” in terms of its symbolizations, its representativeness, and the episteme that it confronts. The analysis also underlines the social reproduction of several systemic mechanisms, related in particular to the invisibility of African scholars affiliated with African institutions and with the academic filters, which are more than economic or political ones, that can impede their mobility towards France. |

| Summary, etc. | Este artículo cuestiona las representaciones y los imaginarios sociales que caracterizan las prácticas académicas en el campo francés de los estudios africanos, sobre la base del análisis de la preparación de un simposio de jóvenes investigadores especializados en África y organizado en Francia. Analiza el lugar y la participación de los investigadores africanos en la estructuración de este campo científico; y lo que inducen en la producción y circulación del conocimiento. Esta crítica reflexiva explora los contornos contrastantes del objeto de investigación “África”, sus simbolizaciones, sus representatividades académicas y las epistemes que confronta. El análisis también destaca la reproducción social de varios mecanismos sistémicos, particularmente relacionados con la invisibilidad de los investigadores africanos afiliados a las instituciones africanas y a los filtros más académicos que económicos o políticos que pueden obstaculizar su movilidad a Francia. |
