| Summary, etc. | ResuméCet article se donne pour objet les deux séminaires de R. Aron, le premier s’étant tenu à la Sorbonne entre 1956 et 1967, le second à l’EPHE entre 1968 et 1977. Dans une perspective consistant à étudier le libéralisme « par le bas », il cherche à rendre compte de la formation d’une mouvance aronienne qui fédère derrière une étiquette libérale un groupe d’intellectuels venus d’horizons divers. Ce processus ne se comprend qu’en opérant une contextualisation de ces séminaires, le premier prenant place dans un moment académique de la trajectoire d’Aron, le second se déployant dans un moment plus politique de celle-ci. La césure entre les deux correspond, sur le plan académique, à la démission d’Aron de la Sorbonne, et au plan politique, à Mai 1968. Cette mouvance portera deux revues, Contrepoint et Commentaire, ayant joué un rôle dans le « tournant antitotalitaire », tout autant qu’elle sera portée par elles. |

| Summary, etc. | The elementary structures of sociability. Raymond Aron’s seminars and the genesis of the liberal movement (1955-1978)This article focuses on R. Aron’s two seminars, the first of which was held at the Sorbonne between 1956 and 1967, the second at the EPHE between 1968 and 1977. From a perspective of studying liberalism “from below”, he seeks to reflect the formation of an Aronian movement that unites behind a liberal label a group of intellectuals from diverse backgrounds. This process can only be understood by contextualizing these seminars, the first taking place in an academic moment of Aron’s trajectory, the second unfolding in a more political moment of it. The gap between the two corresponds, on the academic level, to Aron’s resignation from the Sorbonne, and on the political level, to May 1968. This movement will carry two reviews, Contrepoint and Commentaire, which played a role in the “anti-totalitarian turn”, as well as being carried by them. |
