| Summary, etc. | Les modifications apportées en 2013 au titre VI du Code civil de la Fédération de Russie, source essentielle du droit international privé russe, représentent une réforme considérable. Ce constat s’autorise de l’élargissement du domaine concédé au renvoi, du renforcement de l’obligation du tribunal d’établir le contenu de la loi étrangère, de la caractérisation plus précise des exceptions au droit étranger désigné, de l’extension du champ ouvert à l’autonomie des parties, d’une définition plus claire du critère du lien le plus étroit. Ainsi réformé, le droit international privé russe se rapproche sensiblement des options du droit des conflits de l’Union européenne et c’est là une avancée significative dans le développement de la discipline. |

| Summary, etc. | The modifications made in 2013 to Title VI of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, the main source of Russian private international law, represent a significant change. This can be seen in the new frontiers of renvoi, in the reinforcement of the judicial obligation to ascertain the content of foreign law, in the finer definition of the exceptions to the applicable foreign law, in the extended scope of party autonomy, and in a clearer determination of the closest connection. Thus reformed, Russian private international law has opted, on several points, for positions close to those of the conflict of laws within the EU, and this is a notable step in the development of the discipline. |
