| Summary, etc. | L’objectif de cet article est d’identifier les symboles utilisés par les sélections nationales africaines fanions de football et analyser leurs palmarès. S’inspirant de la taxonomie des êtres vivants et menant une investigation documentaire, l’étude constate que les 55 pays affiliés à la Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) utilisent 21 noms de familles d’espèces dont 71,42% du règne animal, 9,52% des êtres humains et 19,04% des choses. Sur la base du nombre de trophées gagnés et d’apparition à la Coupe d’Afrique des Nations (CAN), l’étude révèle que sur le plan individuel, le podium est par ordre croissant occupé par les Pharaons d’Égypte (7 trophées en 24 apparitions), les Lions indomptables du Cameroun (5 trophées et 19 apparitions) et les Black stars du Ghana (4 trophées en 22 apparitions). Sur la base du 5e taxon, ce podium est occupé par la famille des félidés (8 trophées et 77 apparitions), puis des divinités, des rois, des personnages royaux fondateurs de l’identité et de la fierté nationale (8 trophées et 32 apparitions) et enfin des Accipitridaes (4 trophées, 38 apparitions). Le podium du classement FIFA de février 2021 est occupé par les Lions de la Téranga, les Aigles du Carthage et les Fennecs d’Algérie. Ainsi, les champions ont des symboles fort évocateurs, les félins sont des leaders. Seulement est-il que tous les prédateurs suivant la chaine alimentaire, n’ont pas le même palmarès. Bien que les performances sportives ne soient pas tributaires seulement des aspects psychologiques. N’y a-t-il pas nécessité de changer de surnom après une période si l’on n’a pas obtenu les résultats escomptés ? Ne faudrait-il pas s’intéresser à la perception qu’ont les acteurs clés comme les joueurs et les entraineurs sur ces symboles ? |

| Summary, etc. | The objective of this article is to identify the symbols used by the African football national teams and to analyse their palmares. Inspired from the taxonomy of human beings and carrying out a documentary investigation, this study observes that the fifty five (55) countries affiliated to the African Football Confederation (AFC) make use of twenty one (21) names of different family species. Amongst these species, 71.42% are of the animal kingdom, 9.52% of human beings and 19.04% constituted of things. Based on the number of trophies won and the advent of the African Cup of Nations (ACN), this study reveals that on the individual plan, the podium in order of merit is occupied by the Pharoahs of Egypt (07 trophies in 24 appearances), followed by the Indomptomitable Lions of Cameroon (05 trophies in 19 appearances) and the Black Stars of Ghana (04 trophies in 22 appearances). On the bases of the fifth (5th) taxon, this podium is occupied by the families of felids (08 trophies and 77 appearances). This is closely followed by divinities, kings, royal personalities who are founders of the identity and national pride (08 trophies and 32 appearances) and finally by the family of accipitridae (04 trophies and 38 participations). The FIFA classification podium of february 2021 is occupied by the Teranga (Desert) Lions. Thus, it is evident that the champions have very strong evocative symbols, with the Felines as leaders. However, it is observed that all the predators following the feeding habits to not have the same palmares. Eventhough the sportive performances are not solely connected to psychological aspects, is it not necessary to change the surname after a given period if the expected results are not being atteined ? Is it not important to be interested or concerned with the perception possessed by key actors such as players and coaches with respect to these symboles ? |
