| Summary, etc. | Dans une démarche transgressive, Diderot romancier franchit les barrières sociales en s’intéressant à des individus qui ne suscitent guère d’ intérêt, les pauvres. En éclairant ainsi ses objets, l’artiste aboutit à la création de personnages innovants dans Le Neveu de Rameau, Jacques le Fataliste et le Supplément au voyage de Bougainville. Aussi bien le Neveu que Le Pelletier et le bourru bienfaisant ou les Tahitiens brouillent, chacun à leur manière, les frontières sociales. Dans cette optique, les échanges, lorsqu’ils ne sont pas voués à l’échec, sont fortement perturbés. Ce sont autant de manières pour le romancier de revisiter la pauvreté, qui vont de pair dans les trois fictions avec un franchissement des limites génériques conventionnelles, l’écriture chez Diderot favorisant la pensée autant que la pensée conditionne l’écriture. Il n’est pas anodin que la plupart des mises en scène de la frontière sociale s’exécutent à travers le dialogue, terrain éminemment propice à l’exercice de la pensée critique. |

| Summary, etc. | In a transgressive approach, novelist Diderot crosses social barriers by taking an interest in individuals who arouse little interest, the poor. By illuminating his objects in this way, he ended up creating innovative characters in Le Neveu de Rameau, Jacques le Fataliste and le Supplément au Voyage de Bougainville. Both the Neveu and Le Pelletier and the “bourru bienfaisant” or the Tahitians blur social boundaries, each in their own way. From this perspective, exchanges, when they are not doomed to failure, are greatly disrupted. These are all ways for the novelist to revisit poverty, which go hand in hand in the three fictions with a crossing of conventional generic limits, writing in Diderot favoring thought as much as thought conditions writing.
