| Summary, etc. | La communication politique se résume-t-elle exclusivement à la communication médiatique du « Pouvoir politique » ? Si l’on en croit la littérature académique, force est de constater qu’un large consensus existe depuis longtemps sur ce point. Comment l’expliquer ? Et comment ignorer qu’une telle évidence conduit à la fois à occulter des pans entiers de réalité et à promouvoir une vision quelque peu trompeuse ? Après avoir ressaisi la genèse de l’objet « communication politique », l’article engage trois hypothèses explicatives : le média-centrisme, l’emprise des croyances relatives au « Pouvoir politique », la division du travail scientifique et la structuration coercitive des espaces de production de la connaissance. À terme, la critique invite à reconsidérer l’objet, à modifier le regard que l’on porte sur celui-ci pour élargir le champ des recherches entreprises à bien d’autres phénomènes. |

| Summary, etc. | Does political communication come down exclusively to the media communication of “political power”? If we are to believe the academic literature, it is clear that a broad consensus has long existed on this point. How to explain it? And how can we ignore that such evidence leads both to concealing whole swathes of reality and to promoting a somewhat misleading vision? After re-entering the genesis of the “political communication” object, the article engages three explanatory hypotheses: media-centrism, the hold of beliefs about “political power”, the division of scientific labor and the coercive structuring of knowledge production spaces. Ultimately, the criticism invites us to reconsider the object, to modify the way we look at it in order to broaden the field of research undertaken to include many other phenomena. |
