| Summary, etc. | Cette étude vise à repérer et analyser les raisonnements et difficultés d’apprentissage des élèves au Bénin à propos des représentations sémiotiques de Cram et de Newman des molécules organiques, sous l’angle de la visualisation mentale. Un questionnaire papier-crayon a été passé à 340 élèves de plusieurs classes de Terminale D appartenant à différents établissements. L’analyse des résultats montre qu’ils peinent à mener avec succès les opérations de conversion inter registre Cram Newman, et de rotation d’un groupe d’atomes autour de l’axe internucléaire carbone-carbone parce que les capacités de visualisation spatiale, d’orientation spatiale et de relations spatiales leur font défaut. |

| Summary, etc. | An aspect of the Beninese students’ difficulties in stereochemistry: the mental visualization of the Cram and Newman semiotic representationsThis study deals with students in the last year of upper secondary schools in Benin and aims to characterize and analyze their reasoning and learning difficulties regarding the semiotic representations (Cram and Newman projections) of organic molecules. A paper and pencil test was given to 340 students. The results analysis shows that they fail to successfully translate between Cram and Newman representations and to rotate a group of atoms around the carbon-carbon internuclear axis because they lack spatial visualization, spatial orientation and spatial relations abilities. |

| Summary, etc. | Este estudio busca identificar y analizar los razonamientos y dificultades de aprendizaje de los alumnos en Benín relativos a las representaciones semióticas de Cram y de Newman de moléculas orgánicas, en el ángulo de la visualización mental. Un cuestionario papel y lápiz fue distribuido a 340 alumnos de varias clases de último año de bachiller de varios establecimientos. El análisis de los resultados muestra que se les dificulta hacer las operaciones inter-registro Cram y Newman, y de rotación de un grupo de átomos alrededor del eje internuclear carbono-carbono. Porque les faltan las capacidades de visualización espacial, de orientación espacial y de relación espacial. |
