| Summary, etc. | L’article analyse les évolutions du secteur médico-social au regard des transformations contemporaines de l’action publique qui ont justement comme effet de réduire les particularités des secteurs de politique publique. Après avoir rappelé la difficulté d’identifier le médico-social comme objet spécifique, trois scenarii sont évoqués pour son avenir : une forte réduction de son autonomie, un rapprochement fort avec le secteur sanitaire et la réaffirmation de son autonomie à travers la construction en cours d’un discours endogène. Chacun de ces scenarii s’appuie sur une analyse des évolutions récentes des politiques médico-sociales. |

| Summary, etc. | The article analyses developments in the medico-social sector in terms of the contemporary transformations of public action whose effect has been to reduce the specificities of public policy sectors. It starts by discussing the difficulty of identifying the medico-social sector as a specific object, then turns to three potential scenarios for its future : a considerable diminution in autonomy, a major rapprochement with the healthcare sector, and the affirmation of its autonomy by means of the ongoing construction of an endogeneous discourse. Each scenario is based on an analysis of recent trends in medico-social policy. |
