| Summary, etc. | L’origine des inégalités entre hommes et femmes fait appel à de nombreux facteurs explicatifs qu’il est difficile de combiner. Si l’on adopte une approche évolutionniste qui prend en compte les données de l’éthologie des primates, et que l’on inclut quelques notions phylogénétiques de base, il apparaît que la domination sexuelle masculine est un fait anthropologique fondamental qui a perduré ou s’est renforcé dans les sociétés humaines. Il est également important de réaliser que de nombreuses petites sociétés sans écriture ont institutionnalisé dans leur culture, locale ou plus générale, une infériorité féminine brutale avant même de devenir un fait établi dans certaines sociétés stratifiées, fondées sur l’extension du cercle familial et le renforcement du système patrilinéaire. Ainsi, les inégalités de genre sont bien des inégalités de sexe dont l’origine doit se situer en amont même de notre préhistoire. |

| Summary, etc. | The origin of inequalities between men and women invites many explanatory factors that are difficult to combine. Thus, the gender inequalities are in fact sexual inequalities whose origin has to be situated even before our prehistory. |
