The purpose of this contribution is to study the evolution of state intervention in sport in France in the 20th century, from exclusive support for amateur sport to the acceptance of commercial sport. |

Pourtant, jusqu’aux années 1980, les représentations dominantes dans le monde sportif placent la pratique amateure au-dessus du sport professionnel. L’objet de cette contribution est d’étudier l’évolution de l’intervention de l’État dans le sport en France au xx e siècle, d’un soutien exclusif au sport amateur à l’acceptation du sport commercial. |
