| Summary, etc. | L’entourage politique agissant de Philippe le Beau (1494-1506) se compose essentiellement de collaborateurs originaires des Pays-Bas ou des deux Bourgognes. Parmi les trente-trois principaux conseillers identifiés (les « ministres »), un seul, le margrave Christophe de Bade, est réellement étranger aux États dont Philippe est le prince « naturel ». Quelques autres Allemands et Autrichiens sont là pour attester une certaine continuité avec le temps de la régence de Maximilien. Peu d’hommes originaires des royaumes espagnols font également leur apparition. Les membres de l’ordre des chevaliers de la Toison d’or pèsent d’un grand poids dans les décisions et voient entrer dans leurs rangs des étrangers de haute lignée. |

| Summary, etc. | The active political brains trust of Philip the Fair (1494-1506) is composed essentially of collaborators originating from the Netherlands or the two Burgundies. Among the thirty-three major advisors identified (the « ministers »), only one, the Margrave Christophe de Bade, is really a foreigner to the states of which Philippe is the « natural » prince. A few other Germans and Austrians are there to mark a certain continuity with Maximilian’s period of regency. But few men from the Spanish kingdoms will make their apparition. The members of the order of the Knights of the Golden Fleece weigh heavily on the decision making process and are joined by strangers of a high lineage. |
