| Summary, etc. | Les moines de Saint-Éloi de Noyon ont transcrit toutes les pièces d’une procédure à rebondissements, et inachevée (1252-1261), les ayant opposés aux chanoines de la cathédrale de Noyon au sujet de la détention du corps de saint Éloi et du contrôle subséquent d’un pèlerinage lucratif. Parmi ces pièces, se trouve une longue lettre de juillet 1256 où l’abbé, parti à la Curie, narre par le menu ses efforts pour obtenir une nouvelle intervention pontificale en faveur de l’abbaye. La lettre, ici commentée, éditée et traduite, mise en regard d’autres relations analogues, est un témoignage vivant et précieux des longues démarches faites auprès de la papauté lors des procédures d’appel, comme du fonctionnement, complexe et coûteux à maîtriser, des institutions et des réseaux romains, dans le contexte des troubles communaux et d’un déplacement à Anagni. |

| Summary, etc. | The monks of Saint-Eloi’s of Noyon have transcribed all the documents of a hectic and unfinished proceeding (1252-1261), that opposed them to the canons of the Noyon Cathedral about the keeping of Saint-Eloi’s body and the subsequent control of a lucrative pilgrimage. Among these documents, there is a long letter, written in July 1256, where the Abbot, gone to the Curia, tells in detail his efforts to obtain a new intervention of the Pope in favour of the Abbey. The letter which this paper comments, edits, translates, and compares to other relations of the same type, is a vivid and precious testimony of the protracted approaches resorted to during appeals procedures, and of the actual working, complex and costly to master, of Rome’s institutions and networks, within the context of the communal troubles and of a transfer to Anagni. |
