| Summary, etc. | Si agressivité et empathie sont des données du vivant, dans le cas du vivant humain, ce qui est fondateur du lien social, ce ne sont pas ces données mais le geste qui les assume et les dépasse : celui de l’alliance, celle qui se noue entre les hommes par l’échange de dons, de biens offerts comme symboles de ce pacte de reconnaissance mutuelle. Comment alors penser le lien politique propre aux sociétés étatiques ? À la suite d’Aristote, l’article souligne un basculement majeur : le passage de la réciprocité agonistique à la mutualité contractuelle par lequel s’institue la polis, chacun s’accordant avec l’autre désormais devant la loi qui arbitre les conflits. |

How, then, can we think of the political bond specific to state societies? Following Aristotle, the article highlights a major shift: the passage from agonistic reciprocity to contractual mutuality through which the polis is established, each party agreeing with the other before the law that arbitrates conflicts. |
