| Summary, etc. | RésuméLa Faculté de théologie de Douai s’est tôt signalée à l’attention du public dans la moderne querelle catholique de la grâce. En 1588, les théologiens douaisiens ont censuré les thèses prémolinistes de Lessius. Un siècle plus tard, la Fourberie de Douai (1690-1692) a été l’occasion pour le parti moliniste de prendre une revanche éclatante. La persistance, au sein de l’Université, d’une influente mouvance janséniste explique les regains de tension du début du xviiie siècle. Le présent article analyse les circonstances institutionnelles et doctrinales dans lesquelles a été rendue, en août 1722, une censure qui condamnait les cours de plusieurs théologiens douaisiens, accusés de dissimuler leurs sentiments philojansénistes derrière un thomisme de simple apparat. |

| Summary, etc. | Douai’s Theology Faculty became rapidly the focus of the public’s attention in the modern Catholic row over the issue of grace. In 1588, Douai’s theologians imposed a censorship on Lessius’s pre-Molinist theses. A century later, the Fourberie de Douai (1690-1692) gave the Molinists’ party an opportunity to take a resounding revenge. The persistence, within the University, of an influential Jansenist trend explains the renewed tension that occurred at the beginning of the xviiith century. This paper analyses the institutional and doctrine circumstances which prevailed at the time when, in August 1722, a censorship decision was made which condemned the lectures of several theologians of Douai, blamed with concealing their philo-Jansenist feelings behind a purely ceremonial Thomism. |
