| Summary, etc. | Les recherches récentes dans plusieurs disciplines et notamment la géo-morphologie des côtes zélandaises rendent indispensable une révision de la problématique de la genèse des cités romaines de Zélande et en particulier celle des Frisiavons. Partant de l’ensemble des documents et sources l’article propose une implantation géographique de cette civitas entre l’embouchure de l’Escaut oriental et celle, anciennement commune, de la Meuse et du Rhin ( Helinium) avec sans doute un contrôle de la Striène, et une création au ier siècle, peut-être par Corbulon, au départ d’un groupe de Frisii minores. |

| Summary, etc. | Zealand in Roman Times and the Question of the FrisiavonesRecent research carried out in various fields and particularly the study of the geomorphology of the coasts of Zealand have made it necessary to reconsider the issue of the origin of the Roman settlements in Zealand and foremost that of the Frisiavones. Following a comprehensive survey of documents and sources, this contribution proposes a geographical location for this civitas between the mouth of the Scheldt, and the previous commonly assigned one of the Maas and Rhine (Helinium) with a likely control of the Striene. It is proposed that it was created in the 1st century, possibly by Corbulo, initially out of a group of Frisii minores. |
