| Summary, etc. | Dès l’automne 1940, François de Menthon publie le journal clandestin Liberté poussant à la Résistance contre l’occupant nazi. Procureur au procès de Nuremberg, ce Savoyard a été un des artisans du programme politique du CNR. Sa mémoire a été hélas oubliée et mériterait d’être rappelée car il fut un vrai combattant de la liberté. |

| Summary, etc. | From the autumn of 1940, François de Menthon published the secret newspaper Liberté that encouraged resistance to the Nazi occupiers. This man of Savoy origin was one of the designers of the political programme of the Council for national resistance and later became a prosecutor at the Nuremberg trials. He has alas been largely forgotten and yet merits remembrance as a genuine fighter for freedom. |
