520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | This article focuses on the Turin-Milan Hours. This manuscript resulted from an exceptional prayer book break-up. It comprised the Turin-Milan Missal, four folios now in the Louvre Museum and one in the Getty Museum, and the Turin Prayer Book, which was destroyed in 1904 when the Biblioteca Nazionale ed Universitaria in Turin burned. For over a century, this manuscript has been the subject of passionate discussions because of the many problems of interpretation it raises. However, the last two illustration campaigns remain the least studied today. By identifying hitherto unattributed coats of arms, this contribution proposes an identification for the last and penultimate patron of the Turin-Milan Hours, Otto van Bronckhorst and Willem van Schagen, respectively. The trajectories of these two patrons are examined in greater detail in order to verify their consistency with the data we have on these last two patrons. Finally, the article offers some reflections on the uses and circulation of illuminated prayer books in the fifteenth century in the Old Netherlands. |

Summary, etc. |
