| Summary, etc. | La recherche médicale a mis en évidence les effets néfastes sur la santé des seniors d’une exposition prolongée à des polluants atmosphériques ( PM2.5) au cours de la vie. Dans le présent papier, nous développons un modèle à générations imbriquées qui intègre cette évidence empirique. L’étude de la dynamique locale montre qu’une forte sensibilité de la santé des seniors à la pollution subie au cours de la jeunesse peut donner naissance à un cycle limite, au voisinage de l’état stationnaire de l’économie, au travers d’une bifurcation de Hopf si les préférences du consommateur représentatif présentent une forte complémentarité entre santé et consommation. |

| Summary, etc. | Delayed Effect of Pollution on Health: a Source of Endogenous Fluctuations Médical research points out that some diseases of the elderly can be explained by past exposure to air pollution ( PM2.5). In this paper, we address the dynamical conséquences of this empirical évidence. For that purpose, we develop an environmental OLG model where pollution level faced by the représentative household during his youth affects his health during his old age. Within this simple framework, we show that a strong sensitivity of old age health to pollution exposure during youth may lead to the occurrence of a limit cycle near the steady state through a Hopf bifurcation. |
