| Summary, etc. | Cet article questionne les effets de la « liberté d’installation régulée » du notariat français sur la féminisation de la profession. Les barrières au sein de la profession sont polymorphes, et peuvent être analysées sur le long terme comme une fermeture du marché doublée d’une exclusion ciblée des femmes de la profession, dans une capture genrée de la réglementation. Si la nouvelle régulation du marché a réduit les barrières à l’entrée, elle a également eu des effets sur ses structures, déplaçant les mécanismes de démarcation au cœur du marché. Dans un exercice de prospective, et à partir de données sur les pratiques des notaires des Hauts-de-Seine, l’article montre que le processus de segmentation du marché notarial peut s’accompagner d’une ségrégation dans la profession. |

| Summary, etc. | This article focuses on the effects of the “regulated freedom of establishment” of notaries in France on the feminization of the profession. It shows that barriers within the profession are polymorphous, and can be analyzed over time as a closure of the market, as well as being a targeted exclusion of women from the profession, in a gendered appropriation of regulation. While the new market regulations have reduced barriers to entry, they have also affected its structures, shifting demarcation mechanisms to the heart of the market. Using a forward-thinking approach and based on data about the practices of notaries in Hauts-de-Seine, this article shows that the segmentation of the notarial market may be accompanied by segregation within the profession.
