| Summary, etc. | C'est au regard de l'orientation et de l'état de la recherche sur les relations interethniques en France que l'auteur s'interroge sur les usages que l'on peut faire aujourd'hui des analyses, des concepts et des positions scientifiques des sociologues fondateurs de l'École de Chicago. En partant de la définition du " cycle des relations raciales ", formulée par Park en 1926, et des corrections qui lui ont été apportées par la suite, l'auteur discute du rôle des conflits interethniques, de celui des politiques et des institutions, du problème de la réduction du social à l'urbain et de la société à l'État national. La portée des concepts formés par et pour la recherche et celle de la distance du chercheur à son objet sont ensuite abordées dans une perspective épistémologique. |

| Summary, etc. | From the Urban to the Social : the "Cycle of Race Relations" -- The author discusses how the analyses, concepts and scientific positions of the sociologists who founded the Chicago School can be applied to research on interethnic relations in France as they exist today. Taking as her point of departure the "cycle of race relations" formulated by Park in 1926, including subsequent modifications made to the model, she examines the role of interethnic conflict, as well as that of policies and institutions. Also discussed are the problems that are inherent in the reduction of the social to the urban, on one hand, and society to the nation-state on the other. The wider significance of the concepts developed through and for the author's study, and the issue of the distance of the researcher in relation to her subject are then discussed relation to the author's epistemological perspective. |

| Summary, etc. | De lo urbano a lo social : el "ciclo de las relaciones entre razas" -- Observando la orientación y el estado de las investigaciones francesas sobre las relaciones interetnicas el autor se pregunta como utilizar hoy las análisis, los conceptos y las posturas científicas de los fundadores de la Escuela de Chicago. Fundándose sobre el "ciclo de las relaciones entre razas" tal que fue planteado por Park en 1926 y las correcciones que le fueron luego añadidas, el autor discute sucesivamente del papel de los conflictos interetnicos, del de las políticas y de las instituciones y al mismo tiempo el problema de la reducción de lo social o lo urbano y de la sociedad al estado nacional. Al final el autor toma un enfoque epistemológico para valorar los limites del uso de concepciones que nacieron para la investigación y en ella, y valorar también la distancia que debería guardar el investigador con su objeto de estudios. |
